1.3 Basic requirements for sensors that measure fuel consumption 

in moving vehicles 

 

Although  there  are  many  different  types  of  sensors,  each  has  its  own 

unique  and  appropriate  requirements.  There  are  also  some  basic  requirements 

for fuel gauges. Below we will get acquainted with the most basic of them. 

 

1. Accuracy.  This  is  the  first  requirement, even  if  the  accuracy  of  any 

fuel consumption sensor is not 100%, an attempt will be made to bring the result 

as  close  as  possible  to  this  indicator.  As  we  have  seen  above,  there  are  fuel

consumption sensors with an accuracy of 97-99%, but they are also considered 

to have reached this level under certain conditions. Research is still underway to 

achieve  one of the  most basic  requirements  for  fuel consumption sensors, high 

accuracy without additional conditions.
