Sustainable transport policies, can be financially beneficial 
Investments in research and development of new energy sources and vehicle technologies 
can have important financial benefits for policy makers, as they could not only help us 
develop a more sustainable transport system, but may also lead to jobs creation and 
economic growth. New industries and jobs could help policy makers to address both short‐
run economic and long‐run sustainability issues.
