Offer by conduct (
amal)
An offer can be made by conduct, that is, without any verbal words or gestures being exchanged or expressed.
For example, seller X is selling rice from a pile of rice. The price per kilogram is written on top of the pile at
$3 per kilogram. Buyer Y gives $6 to the seller and the seller gives the buyer 2 kilograms of rice. Here no
verbal communication is made between the offerer and the offeree. The offer and acceptance has been
concluded by conduct. Offer and acceptance by conduct is recognized in the Islamic law of contract.
