Ni'matulloev, Sobit
Tajik seismologist Sobit Habibulloevich Ni'matulloev was born in
Uroteppa on September 16, 1937. He joined the CPSU in 1966.
Ni'matulloev graduated from the Tajikistan Polytech Institute in
1961. In 1966, he became the Associate Academic and Secretary for
physics, mathematics, geology, and chemistry, as well as the Director of
the Department of Seismology of the Academy of Sciences of
Tajikistan. He became a Corresponding Member of the Academy of
Sciences of Tajikistan in 1972. Under his leadership, the first laboratory
for measuring seismic tremors was established. His contributions
include Skhimahoi Hisobu Kitobi Dinomikii Binoho va Lappishhoi
Ozodi Onho (Schemes for the Calculation of Building Dynamics and
Their Free Swashes, 1971) and Problemahoi Hozirazamoni
Sizmologiyoi Inzheneri va Nazariyai Zilzilabardori (Contemporary
Seismological Engineering Problems and the Theory of Earthquake
Zones, 1976).
Ni'matulloev is a recipient of the Order of the Presidium of the
Supreme Soviet of Tajikistan.
