46.3 went out (past tense)
46.3.1 Ethan and Fred work together at ABC Corp. Ethan is looking for their colleague,
Pam.
Ethan: Hey Fred. Have you seen Pam today?
Fred: Sure. She’s definitely in today. I think she went out for a smoke.
Ethan: Regular place?
Fred: Probably.
Ethan: Ok. I’ll go find her. I need to ask her something about one of my
projects.
46.3.2 Teresa and her friend, Tim are having coffee together and chatting about recent
events.
Teresa: What’s up, Tim? Have you got a cold?
Tim: I think so. I went out in the rain yesterday without an umbrella. I think
I caught a chill.
Teresa: Why did you do that?
Tim: I had no choice. I needed to go to the store to get groceries and I left
my umbrella in the office.
Teresa: Well I hope you feel better soon.
Tim: Thanks.
