The Council for Study of Productive Forces (COPF) of the ASRT was founded in

1951. The COPF consists of 4 departments:

  Economic Stabilization

  Demography and Utilization of Labor Resources

•

  Economic Mastering of Mountain Territories

•

  Modeling of Socio-economic Processes

The major fields of investigation in the Institute include

•

  Rational development and placing of productive forces of the Republic and its

districts.

•

  Formation of territorial branch production complexes.

•

  Tackling the complex programs of major scientific-technological and socio-

economic problems in the development of the national economy of the

Republic.

•

  Expanding economic authority  over mountain territories and rational utilization

of mountain district  resources.
