EXPRESSION OF THE HISTORICAL STORY "THE PARABLE OF THREE RINGS" BY G.E. LESSING 
Abstract 
The article analyzes the expression of oriental motifs in the work of the German enlightener G.E.Lessing. Lessing's concept of 
tolerance, developed on the basis of ―The Parable of the Three Rings‖, is a belief in the pursuit of mutual harmony and the 
improvement of human society. The author's drama "The Wise Nathan" reflects the family solidarity necessary to overcome 
fanaticism and intolerance in society. The concept of tolerance and humanity, reflected in the "Parable of the Three Rings", was a 
story that tells about universal things without regard to worldview and did not have much significance for interpersonal 
relationships. Lessing emphasized the moral content of ―The Parable of the Three Rings‖ and relatively reflected the 
commonality of his religion.
