Materialism – (from latin “materiastos “- matter) – the monist doctrine that matter is the only reality and that the mind, the emotions, etc., are merely functions of it;interest in and desire for money, possessions, etc., rather than spiritual or ethical values

Matter – that which makes up something, especially a physical object; material

Metaphysics – (from greek “ta meta ta phusika” the things after the physics) - from the arrangement of the subjects treated in the works of Aristotle, the branch of philosophy that deals with first principles, especially of being and knowing. It was first used by Andronikos, who commented on his works

Methodology -1) the system of methods and principles used in a particular discipline 2) the branch of philosophy concerned with the science of method and procedure

Nature -the whole system of the existence, arrangement, forces, and events of all physical life that are not controlled by man ; all natural phenomena and plant and animal life, as distinct from man and his creations
