We use be going to:
a) for plans and intentions for the (near) future
e.g. I am going to play football this afternoon.
He is going to buy a bike this summer.
b) when there is evidence that something is going to happen in the near future.
e.g. It is going to rain. There are dark clouds in the sky.
We can use the present continuous for actions we have already arranged to do in the near future
e.g. I am meeting Helen at two o’clock. Also, with verbs of movement such as: come, go, fly, travel, leave, etc.
e.g. I am leaving for Paris tomorrow. (I have already arranged it.)
