MAIN PROBLEMS IN DESIGNING THE DEVELOPMENT OF OIL AND GAS FIELDS 
AND POSSIBLE WAYS TO SOLUTION THEM

Abstract. The purpose of the study is to review and study the main problems of designing the 
development of oil and gas fields in order to develop possible ways to effectively solve them. Based 
on the performed systematic literature review and content analysis, the main problems were iden-
tified: imperfection of the technologies used; inappropriate perception by oil and gas companies 
of the development design process itself; the need for decision-making by specialists in the course 
of designing the development of gas and oil fields under conditions of uncertainty; insufficient 
state involvement in the creation of new technologies. The authors give possible solutions to the 
identified problems.
