Services: 583 bed facility that offers a variety of specialty units and advanced services including: cancer, cardiology, mental health, women’s health care, occupational health, and the region’s most advanced trauma center. Inpatient and outpatient surgery is also available and a wide range of medical services. This is the largest hospital in the Tuscaloosa area along with surrounding counties.

*Accepts Medicaid and Medicare. Facility also provides for the uninsured patients. The uninsured are responsible for paying their bill either directly or through charitable services, which are available through the hospital.

Services: Alabama’s largest psychiatric facility that provides long term as well as acute/short term care individuals who have serious mental illness. Bryce also houses a 40 bed adolescent program. The hospital acts as a placement site for professional training in psychiatry, social work, nursing, psychology, and rehabilitation.

Services: This is a state funded hospital and Alabama’s largest center that deals with mental retardation. Residents live in a home like environment, and are provided a wide range of services, skill training opportunities, and adult education programs. Serves adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations

Services: 54 bed psychiatric facility connected to Northport Medical Center. These services are only available to adults. The facility provides inpatient psychiatric treatment designed to be short term utilizing a comprehensive and interdisciplinary approach.

Services: Programs and services are designed to enable persons with mental retardation the opportunity to achieve maximum independence through the provision of day programming services, prevocational skills training, supported employment services, personal and systems advocacy, family counseling, and dissemination of information to the community. These services are provided to adults. Transportation is available for the individuals participating in the program.

*There is no cost to the client. Applicants must mental retardation. Applications for services are screened by program coordinators to determine eligibility.
