Radio and television are the particularly important means of mass media for the community and its cultural life. Upon applying certain techniques required for access to a large audience, the community is duly and well-timely informed on the most important and topical political, economic, cultural and social events in Lithuania; in addition, various scientific programmes, movies and cinema news and other interesting information are provided.
Task.1
We've come a long way since the early days of radio, and students can be forgiven for not fully appreciating how incredible this technology was for its time. But that's nothing a good practical activity can't fix, right?

That's why we think middle-schoolers will get a real kick out of this lesson plan courtesy of Teach Engineering, which teaches students how to assemble a working AM radio from a kit. It's a group project (2 per group) that takes about four hours to complete (it can easily be broken up across a few sessions).

Paired with another more theoretical lesson plan on how AM radios work, your students will learn about the circuit components required, and why their placement matters to the radio's functionality.

Students will come for the theory but stay for the practice - after all, who doesn't love a good soldering activity? Soldering is vital engineering experience, one of the building blocks.

We’re sure this World Radio Day activity will be fun and interesting for children and adults alike! On download, you’ll find the children are challenged to listen to a radio station and make notes on what they hear including any jingles or advertisements, the type of music they play on the station and what kind of content they hear.

Use this resource to guide children through a step-by-step process of writing, producing, recording and broadcasting a radio play. It includes information on how to write the script as well as how to add sound effects. Maybe you could make it into a podcast too?
