“The portrait to a certain extent depicts the inner world of a person and, thus,
prepares us for a quick and accurate understanding of events in the plot. It also depicts
the author’s attitude to the person being depicted. Means the role of this person in the
plot”. [3.188]
The position of the author and the ability to draw a portrait of Lepes in a
historical novel are primarily remarkable. The novel says: “Lepes, a black man by birth,
gradually turns blue. Stretching his neck like a goose’s neck, he looks at the bushes
along the road with a frightening look”. [1.100] The goose neck of the image of Lepes
is often mentioned in the novel. The goose neck may be in the Lepes prototype. The
author skillfully uses these details to portray a heroic figure. Illustrates the image of
the psyche of Lepes with “a goose neck”. The ideological and aesthetic taste of the

fall, hats don't roll on their own, in a hat a head, a head! Heads of karakalpaks in hats!”
