Results 
Students’ learning performance
The analysis of covariance (ANCOVA) was used to examine the scores of post- test 
between the control group and the experimental group. The results show that there was 
a significant differences between the two groups (F=32.192, P=.000) 
(As shown in Table 1). In other words, students who learned and practice with the Mobile 
Game-Based Vocabulary Learning program outperformed those who learned with paper-
based vocabulary list.

Student’s perceptions of the Mobile Game
-Based Vocabulary Learning program 
Most of students believed that the Mobile Game-Based Vocabulary Learning program was 
convenient for them to learn English. The findings also shows that students agreed that 
the spelling game 
Hanger
in the vocabulary learning program was enjoyable and fun for 
them to complete learning task. In terms of the Perceived Ease of Use, the results show 
that most students felt that it was easy for them to use the program. They could easily 
operate the learning program and became skillful when using this program. In addition, 
most of the students believed that English learning became easier when they used the 
Mobile Game-based Vocabulary Learning program. Students agreed that their learning 
performance was improved and the Mobile Game-based Vocabulary Learning program 
was useful for them. 
The results also reveal that students had positive attitude toward using the vocabulary 
learning program. Learners agreed that learning with mobile device was a good idea. 
They were happy to learn through the Mobile Game-Based Vocabulary Learning program. 
Besides, students expressed that they would like to use the Mobile Game-Based 
Vocabulary Learning program in the future. They were willing to use this Mobile Game-
Based Vocabulary Learning program continually after the experiment.
Conclusion 
The study confirms that the Mobile Game-Based Vocabulary Learning program can 
effectively improve students’ learning p
erformance. Students have positive attitude 
toward this vocabulary learning program. From their points of view, this program is 
convenient, easy to use, and useful for leaners. The spelling game 
Hanger
in the program 
did enhance their learning motivation. Moreover, most students said that they were 
willing to learn with this program in the future. In conclusion, the program is helpful for 
students on English vocabulary learning. However, the sample size in this study is small. 
It is suggested that further studies can recruit more students to try out the program.
