Muster at Forest Glen 2011
Friday, Saturday & Sunday July 15, 16 & 17, 2011
The Forces of Montcalm & Wolfe, Inc. would like invite you to a weekend of fun, fellowship and history as we celebrate our heritage and harken back to those small, relaxing F & I events that first drew us to re-enacting. Join us for exciting scenarios on a rustic battlefield, firelock reliability, a tomahawk throwing contest and many other events, all in the beautiful Illinois Country of old New France. Forest Glen County Preserve is one of the fine parks of the Vermillion County Conservation District located just south of Danville, Illinois and on the Vermillion River. The District in cooperation with the Forces is hosting this event which we hope will be an annual occurrence and a pleasant experience for all.
Water, firewood, straw and port-o-lets will be provided. Ice will be available for purchase in the park. Flush toilets and showers are available. Modern tent and RV camping are available in the park on a first come first served basis. Security is being provided by the park rangers of Vermillion County.
There will be a concession stand on site serving limited fare for breakfast and lunch and a number of familiar merchants. We are looking for individuals interested in participating in a school day program for the “Pioneer Kids” summer camp put on by the Vermillion County Conservation District on Friday, July 15th .
This event is intended as an accurate portrayal of frontier life of the period 1740 to 1763. Clothing and camps should reflect this. Please avoid anachronisms and help create the historical illusion for the public.

Frizzen stalls and flash guards are required and no loading from powder horn will be allowed -- cartridges only. (No exceptions)
