Multisectoral country workshop for the development of an action plan for population-based prevention of childhood obesity

Scope and purpose:
Aims:

To review country data on diet, physical activity, childhood obesity and NCDs;
-
To review and discuss initiatives, policies and programmes aiming at population-based prevention of childhood obesity, including national experiences, from the European region and from other regions;
-
To define priority areas in the field of population-based prevention of childhood obesity;
-
To build capacity of a multisectoral team of government officials and other stakeholders in the use and application of the tool “Prioritizing areas for action in the field of population-based prevention of childhood obesity” and the “WHO guide to population based approaches to childhood obesity”.
Proposed outcome:
-
Draft action plan for population-based prevention of childhood obesity, including appropriate stakeholders responsibilities and timeline.
