My summer holidays ("Мои летние каникулы")
Summertime is my favourite season because it means freedom from my school and hard studies. I usually go to bed after midnight in summer and I can sleep as late as I can. It’s a big deal for me because I get really tired of waking up early during the school year.
The most important thing for me is to spend exciting and fantastic summer holidays loaded with activity and adventure. During our long summer holidays I have much fun meeting my friends, going to a summer camp, swimming in the river and eating plenty of fruits, berries and ice-cream. Sometimes my family travels somewhere to a warm and beautiful place near the sea. We spend much time swimming, diving, sunbathing and building sandcastles and sculptures, we also go sightseeing and try the national cuisine in new places. And we take a lot of funny pictures there.
In July or August I often go to hiking expeditions along the river with my elder brother and our friends. As a rule our hiking trips last for about 4 or 5 days. It depends on the weather. Hiking is really arduous and thrilling. You have no mobile phones or the Internet there. You just relax, enjoy the nature and fresh air of the countryside, sunbathe at the beach, play volleyball, go fishing and boating, live in a tent and cook on the fire. Hiking is worth going because you also learn to live and help each other in a team.
My summer holidays are always full of unforgettable impressions. I long for the next holidays because I am sure I’ll have a great time again.

Лето – мое любимое время года, ведь оно означает свободу от школы и трудной учебы. Обычно я иду спать после полуночи летом и могу спать допоздна. Это очень важно для меня, потому что я очень устаю просыпаться рано в течение всего учебного года.
Самое важное для меня – это провести интересные и фантастические летние каникулы, наполненные делами и приключениями. Во время наших долгих каникул я весело провожу время с друзьями, езжу в летний лагерь, плаваю в речке и съедаю море фруктов, ягод и мороженого. Иногда мы с семьей путешествуем в какое-нибудь теплое, красивое место на берегу моря. Мы проводим много времени, плавая, ныряя, загорая и строя замки и скульптуры из песка. Мы также изучаем местные достопримечательности и пробуем национальную кухню в новых местах. И делаем много забавных фотографий.
В июле или августе я часто хожу в походы вдоль реки со старшим братом и нашими друзьями. Как правило, наши походы продолжаются 4-5 дней. Все зависит от погоды. Походы очень тяжелы и захватывающи. Там у вас нет ни мобильных телефонов, ни интернета. Вы просто отдыхаете, наслаждаетесь природой и свежим воздухом сельской местности, загораете на пляже, играете в волейбол, ходите на рыбалку, катаетесь на лодке, живете в палатке и готовите на костре. В походы стоит ходить, потому что вы также учитесь жить и помогать друг другу в команде.
Мои летние каникулы всегда полны незабываемых впечатлений. Я жду с нетерпением следующих каникул, так как уверен, что снова классно проведу время.
I am a student. Every day I have to visit classes and do my homework. I work hard to achieve my aim. I want to become a teacher of biology. Sometimes I get tired and need a good rest. Then I meet my friends and we have a lot of fun. But the best me to rest is my summer holidays. When summer comes, I can meet my friends every day. I can visit my relatives more often. We may talk for hours, discuss our family life and plans for future.
I have a lot of hobbies. They are music, nature and communication. In summer I have more time for my favourite music and may listen to it for hours. Almost every summer I spend in the village, where my parents live. I try to help my parents with the house work and spend with them my free time. In my native village I have a lot of friends. With some of them we studied at the same school and still have common interests and hobbies. In the evening we gather together, go for a walk or organize a party.
When I am in the village, I like to observe the life of animal and plants. It is interesting and useful for me. And when I spend time with my friends, we usually go to the river, lie in the sun, do sports and have a lot of fun. After my summer holidays I am full of energy and desire to study further.

All the people enjoy summer holidays very much. It is a great pleasure to have a rest after a whole year of hard work or study. People like to travel during their summer holidays. Some people go abroad to see new countries, some people prefer to go to the country-side to enjoy country-life far from noise and fuss of big cities.

Some people like to spend their holidays in cities, visiting theatres, museums and going sightseeing. But a great number of people go to the seaside in summer.
I like to have rest at the seaside best of all. I do not like crowds when I am on holiday. My family and I always have our holiday on the coast. Sea and sunshine, that is what we look forward to every summer. Hotels at the large seaside towns are rather expensive, so we usually go to a holiday camp.
Last year we spent our holidays in such a camp. Each day was full of small joys. We swam in the sea, lay in the sun, played different games and had a wonderful time. We lived there for about a month and did not even notice when the time came for us to return home. The time flew very quickly. It was a wonderful rest.
I love summer. It’s a wonderful time. Sunny days and long warm evenings, when you can walk with your friends in parks and talk about everything. Blue sky, green trees, many flowers of different colours – what a pleasure to see a beauty of nature!
My summer holidays were rich with events. There were trips, new acquaintances and bright impressions! I’d like to tell you about the most exciting trip of the summer. It was the trip to the Carpathians.
I like the Carpathians because it’s such a beautiful place. There are mountains covered by spruce forests, blue lakes, meadows and turbulent mountain rivers. The wild beauty of the nature there fascinates you once and forever!
I went to a children’s English summer camp in Bukovel. Bukovel is situated in a valley surrounded by mountains. It’s a very nice place with fabulous views and fresh mountain air. Bukovel is the most popular Ukrainian ski resort in winter, but many people don’t imagine how fantastic this place can be in summer.
In the English summer camp you can improve your knowledge of English in an easy and natural way, communicating with teachers who are native speakers. In addition, we had many fun activities outdoors. We went hiking in the mountains, took part in different games, played tennis, football, basketball, rode mountain bikes, and swam in the deep blue lake. Besides, we had a swimming pool there, so there was no time to be bored. Also we had bus excursions to Yaremche and Vorokhta.
The most memorable event was climbing Hoverla, the highest peak in the Ukrainian Carpathians and in Ukraine in general. Its height is 2061 m above sea level. I think that many people in Ukraine dream to reach the summit of the highest mountain of Ukraine. It was my dream, too, so I was looking forward to this trip.
The weather in the Hoverla region is very changeable. In the morning, when we started our climbing, the weather was fine, but then it changed very fast and suddenly several times. We experienced heavy showers, a thunderstorm, lightning, and even hail. In one moment, the weather was so bad that we asked ourselves whether we really should continue. Maybe, we should go back? We discussed the situation and decided to proceed anyway.
After three hours of difficult paths, there we were on top of Hoverla! We had done it! I was so happy! I will never forget this breathtaking moment.
I had a good time in the English summer camp and I think my English got better. I made many friends there, and I hope we’ll communicate also in future. So I think my summer holifays were very successful.
