5.  Summarize the ratio analysis and explain if the chosen company has superior financial performance 

considering its strengths and weaknesses.  

 

6.  Give objective recommendations to the management on how to improve the performance of the 

company, considering its current situation and future plans. 

 

7.  Prepare Power Point slides to be reviewed at the meeting and submit it before July 1, 2021 as PPT 

and  Excel files  to  intranet  in  zipped folder.  For  each  ratio  calculated  in  Excel  file,  students  must 

show which ratio it is, the equation for this ratio, the actual numbers used to calculate this ratio and 

their source, the value of the ratio itself. The Excel file must contain: In Sheet 1: The balance sheets 

of  the  company  with  its  common-size  analysis  (vertical  and  horizontal),  In  Sheet  2:  Income 

statement of the company with its common-size analysis (vertical and horizontal), In Sheet 3: Cash 

Flow  Statement  using  the  indirect  method,  In  Sheet  4:  All  the  calculated  ratios  for  the  company 

(reference should be given to previous sheets when calculating in excel). Include the website link 

at which the report/statements (for both companies) can be found. No written report is required! 

 

8.  Attend the 

“Shareholders’ meeting” to which you will be invited by the module leader. Be ready to 

provide explanations and answer questions about your analysis.
