2. William Golding uses the book the, Lord of the Flies, to transfer a message that humans have a dark side to them. Golding was trying to do many things like explain to the readers that human nature has a dark side to it, he also had a hands on experience with savagery and Golding used his position as a writer to explain his thoughts. These are all things that William Golding did and was trying to do to explain his philosophy of human nature.
It is a clear fact that William Golding was trying to convey through his book that all humans have a “darker” side to them. Golding did a good job of this, by reading and reviewing the book, most readers can recognize the slow but steady progression of savagery threw out the book. It began in the beginning of the book when the boys began to make fun of Piggy on of the characters in the book, then Roger, one of the more blood thirsty kids began to throw rocks at a boy not hitting him but if he did one of the rocks could have killed the boy. By the end of the book all of the boys end up killing Simon on “accident” thinking that he was the beast, and also Roger ends up killing Piggy on purpose. A quote from the book that conveys the actions of the blood thirsty kids is, “Kill the pig, cut her throat, spill the blood!”.Those are just some examples of the savagery shown in the book by Golding.
William Golding also had an experience of his own that involved him recognizing the dark side of human nature. This experience inspired him to write the book The Lord of the Flies, it also inspired the message translated through the book. The experience William Golding had was when he was part of a war, during that time he witnessed mass amounts of killing and deaths wich scared him mentally. To help himself and convey a message to the world William Golding wrote the book Lord of the Flies. Experiences are very vital in making a person who they are, this war experience was very vital for Golding because it helped him make the amazing book Lord of the Flies.
People who are famous athletes, singers, writers etc. all have a spotlight on them, how they choose to use it is their choice but the few who use it to teach a lesson are the ones who gain the most respect. In William Golding’s case he was one of those people. William used his stage to write a book about the dark but true side of human nature, because of this many people respect him. Many of the readers of his book have realized that he is trying to convey a rare message that nobody talks about, the savage yet human part of us. It is obvious that William Golding has used his spotlight for good.
William Golding uses the book the, Lord of the Flies, to transfer a message that humans have a dark side to them. He also used his spotlight to translate a message and he used his on experiences to captivate and inform the reader about a touchy subject.
