13  .  Sports  and games
I  am  a  student.  I  study  at  the  T ashkent  State  Pedagogical  U niversity  nam ed 
after N izam i.  W e  have  a  large  sport  hall  and  sport  ground  at the  U niversity.  Students 
m ay  go  in  for  various  kinds  o f  sport.  T here  are  m any  sport  circles  at  the  U niversity. 
Physical  training,  sports  and  gam es  are  an  im portant  part  o f   the  education  in  our 
youth.  T he  sport  program m e  for  youth  som etim es  includes  boxing,  w restling, 
sw im m ing,  karate,  kurash,  running  and  cycling.  Sport  helps  people  to  keep  in  good 
health.  Sport  gam es  helps  to  bring  up  a  strong  and  healthy  generation  o f  courageous 
young  m en  and  w om en.  I  like  sports  too.  I  can  play  various  gam es.  W e  have  fine 
sport  team s  and  m any  cham pions.  Every  year  various  com petitions  take  place  at  our 
U niversity.  T hey  are  very  popular  am ong  students.  I  am  a  m em ber  o f  the  U niversity 
football  team  and  take  part  in  m any  com petitions  too.  W e  have  a  fine  coach.  He  is  a 
m aster  o f  sport.  Physical  culture  and  sport  in  our  country  are  part  o f  U zbek  cultural 
and  Public  life.  N ational  kinds  o f   physical  exercise,  national  gam es  and  sport 
com petitions  have  alw ays  been  popular  o u r  country.  O ur  national  sport  gam e  kurash 
is  held  in  everyw here  o f   the  w orld.  In  sum m er  different  gam es  are  very  popular: 
football,  volleyball,  basketball,  tennis  and  others.  W e  have  m any  U zbek  national 
sport gam es:  ‘K u rash ’,  ‘K upkari-,  ‘A rqon  to rtish '  and  others.  M y  hobby  is  football.  I 
think  sport  helds  me  to  keep  my  health,  to  be  strong  and  courageous  man.  O ur 
republic  pays  a  great  attention  to  physical  education  and  sports.  M any  stadium s, 
gym nasium ,  basketball  courts,  sw im m ing  pools  and  other  facilities  have  been  built  in 
our country'.  Football  is  my  hobby  I  am  fond o f  football  very  m uch.
