Destination Image
Several researchers have defined image as a set of beliefs, ideas, and impressions that people have of a
place or destination (Kotler, Haider & Rein, 1993). Dichter (1985) remarked that image is an overall impression
which is formed as a result of the evaluation of individual attributes. Fridgen (1987) stated that image is a mental
representation of an object or place before someone observes or visits, while Baloglu and McCleary (1999)
suggested that image is a valuable concept in understanding the process when tourists destination selection.
