Simply put, artificial intelligence (AI) is the intelligence demonstrated by machines. The purpose of artificial intelligence is to simulate the human brain and provide cognitive functions such as decision-making. Artificial intelligence has created many debates over the decades about whether or not it can take over human tasks. Some believe artificial intelligence is simply there to help humanity, while others argue allowing machines to think for themselves could be catastrophic. Metaverse will rely heavily on artificial intelligence and machine learning. Without them, devices intended to make our lives easier will not be available. Whether those devices will think like us and provide us with what they think we want is different from the machines making rational choices for us. Although artificial intelligence as a concept has existed for quite some time, its implementation to the end-user is relatively new. There will certainly be some interesting decisions made by tech giants, and how government regulations will react to it remains to be seen.
