It is said that house chores and other daily activities cannot be divided between men and women equally. I firmly disagree with the given assertion on the basis of some compelling arguments, which will be discussed in detail.
Firstly, the household chores are not associated with gender abilities at all. It means, since these activities require basic skills for living, every mature human being can accomplish them, and it doesn't matter whether they are men or women. Take a man standing on his own feet as a manifest example; due to living alone, he takes the responsibility of all aspects of his life and does all household chores in the best way to some extent which he develops a taste for so-called feminine activities like cooking and sewing and thrives on his skills.
Secondly, claims separating women from men in home responsibilities can reinforce some entrenched stereotypes. To put it simply, not only is this division of responsibilities preposterous, but also it can fuel some anti-women beliefs. The more these types of stereotypes are promoted, the deeper the stereotype against women will become. Therefore, this statement can pave the road for people who tend to push women to home and deprived them of opportunities to flourish their capabilities. In other words, this thinking system can lay the preliminary groundwork for hindering women's progress in society and restrict them to doing only house chores, just like old patriarchal societies forcing women into serving only men.
To conclude, it is neither ethical no rational to accept the claim indicating that the household chores should not be shared between men and women evenly since this needs rudimentary skills for living, which every single adult is equipped with, and brings about far-reaching negative consequences.
