TEST ANALYSIS
There are five principles of testing and assessment. Here one by one we will analyze variant C according to those principles.
Practicality relates to the test logistics such as development time, scoring time, feedback delivery and cost. So in my opinion this test is not so practical because it took much time for writing also for checking. It means time will be not enough for students in order to copy their essays to the answer sheets from their drafts.
Additionally, the test provides validity for the course. The exam paper is appropriate for the freshmen at university.
There is some reliability. For instance, the rubrics for scoring are good. There are the same scoring rubrics for each variant. There are clear instructions for each task. Questions are similar for each variant, and it is real task for scoring all students equally.
While analyzing the given material I realized that the variant C is an authentic. Because, the tested material have a close match between test task item and the types of things that students will be required to do once they leave their classroom. It means this test is real-world activity. The other thing I sew here is the language within the test. So, in point of my view test language is as natural as possible. There are no any manipulating questions and words which lead to hesitation. All words are understandable at one and also the chosen topics are taken from real life.
The last principle to analyze is washback. So, washback is really another way of saying feedback. I didn’t see here any feedback but it should be underlined that our feedbacks should effect to the students positively. Because a test that provides beneficial washback gives learners feedback that enhances their language development.
