This article is about the fact that Bakhshi is a shining example of
folklore and reflects the past, psyche, mentality, values, customs and traditions of each
nation and the importance of preserving it as an intangible cultural heritage today.

Today, in our country, too, the preservation and development of unique examples
of Uzbek national art of baxshi and epic, the widespread promotion, strengthening the
sense of respect and attention to this art in the hearts of the younger generation, the
development of different peoples. Particular attention is paid to strengthening the ties
of friendship and brotherhood between the two countries, creative cooperation, further
expansion of cultural and spiritual ties at the international level.
The resolution of the head of our state “On measures to further develop the art of
baxshi” adopted on 14 May this year further develops the art of baxshi, which is a vital

source of culture of our people, in our national culture and art. It is important to raise
the role and significance of the country, to educate the younger generation in the spirit
of national identity, devotion to the Fatherland, respect for historical heritage.
Especially in the current era of globalization, the "mass culture" that has become
a commercial tool, the growing negative impact of show business, the decline of
attention and interest in folk art, is forgotten in many places and needs protection and
protection. the rest of the time we will see once again how relevant this decision is. It
should be noted that the art of baxshi, which embodies the national identity, ancient
history and language, way of life, traditions and customs of our people, is recognized
as an integral part of universal culture. the selfless work of our scientists, with their
creative thinking, has been passed down through the centuries.
Indeed, the oral tradition of the people is the spiritual treasure of the people. It is
the duty of generations to preserve and develop this wealth. To do this, first of all, it is
necessary to study the ancient mythological ideas of our people, the art of baxshi, which
is the basis of art and literature. In recent years, the head of our state has been paying
great attention to preserving our national values and passing them on to future
generations. The School of Bakhshi, established in 2018 in Termez at the initiative of
the head of our state, plays an important role in the study and continuation of the
traditions of the art of bakhshi, the discovery and education of talented youth.
In particular, for the first time at the initiative of the President to acquaint the
public with the unique examples of Uzbek baxshi, to increase interest in national
folklore among young people, to strengthen friendly ties between fraternal peoples, to
expand creative ties and cultural cooperation at the international level. The
International Festival of Bakhshi Art was held in Termez on April 5-10 this year.
Symbolic fortresses of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, regions and the city of
Tashkent were built on the area of 32 hectares, where the main festive events took
place. There are exhibitions of each region's unique way of life, folk crafts and applied
arts, field performances, national traditions, customs and values.
More than 160 representatives from 74 countries of the world took part in the
festival, which was held in our country for the first time. The presence of prominent
cultural figures, representatives of folk art, and members of the media among them is
a testament to the high level of international attention paid to the International Festival
of Bakhshi Art. In this regard, the head of our state said: We need to support him in
every possible way. I would like to emphasize that the International Festival of Bakhshi
Art is aimed at such a huge and important goal. ”
Of course, the organization of the International Festival of Bakhshi on the
initiative of the Head of State to promote the art of bakhshi is a great historical event.
There is a wide field for our bakhshi and akyns to show their identity, talent and
potential. The age-old dreams and aspirations of our people have come true. The

International Festival of Bakhshi Art has played an important role in preserving,
studying, promoting and developing the ancient art of our people and encouraging
talented performers.
According to scholars, the tradition of singing in our country in ancient times
developed in three directions. The first direction - Bulungur, Narpay, Nurata, Kurgan,
Shahrisabz, Kamay, Sherabad, Uzbek-Lakai schools of epic poetry in southern
Tajikistan. reported. The second direction - in Khorezm narrow, dutar, gijjak,
harmonic, bulamon, neighbor, sometimes accompanied by a circle, sometimes alone,
sometimes in pairs.
