Research Objective 
The objectives of the current research is to improve the overall quality of education in 
my country and to analyze how gender, age, marital status, rank, academic 
qualification, length of working experience, country of graduation and other 
characteristics may cause any differences of Professional Development among 
university teachers in Uzbekistan. Other specific objectives include: 

To identify the general situation of University teachers’ professional development in 
Uzbekistan.
 

To identify the level of Teachers’ professional development with regard to demographic 
characteristics.
 

To identify and analyze how Teachers’ Professional development affects their 
efficiency in Higher Education.
 
To identify the problems and needs of teachers to achieve Professional Development 
which exist in Higher Education and suggest appropriate recommendation. In 
this 
research professional development of university teachers in Uzbekistan has been 
studied. The link of online questionnaire was sent through social networking in a 
number of universities in Andijan, Uzbekistan. Andijan is the most crowded region of 
Uzbekistan and there are 4 universities including Andijan State University. The content 
of teachers are enormous in universities in Andijan. I visited universities and talked to 
teachers to share my online survey questionnaire and interviewed some teachers to 
enlarge data concerning my reseach. So, the area and scope of present study was 
professional development of university teachers in Uzbekistan. The targeted population 
of this study includes Uzbek nation. The consequences of the current study is 
considered to be generalized to the whole domain and population of this study. 
Data Collection Procedure
The feedback on the questionnaires was obtained from the teachers of local 
Universities of Andijan, Uzbekistan. As an investigator I composed primary data 
source and made sure to teachers that there would not be any interruption to their 
working process if they take decision about the participation in this research work. The 
participation of teachers in current investigation was voluntary. The base of current 
study is the combination of both types i.e. qualitative and quantitative data. The 
qualitative data was gathered by the sampling of teachers. I spent about two months to 
collect data as teachers are fully packed for their working days. I talked to a lot of 
teachers in person and pleased them to fill the questionnaire and decided to interview 
to enlarge the survey data for my research. Additionaly, my teachers who taught us

when we were students participated actively in the survey and helped me to share the 
link of online questionnaire with their collegues. The five-point Likert scale, check box 
type of question and open-ended questions were used for the research study questions. 
Data Analysis
For the analysis and interpretation of collected data, I used IBM SPSS Statistics 22.0. 
(Statistical Package for Social Sciences). Data for the study was analyzed using 
descriptive statistics such as group frequency distribution, mean and standard 
deviation. Additionally, to find the teachers satisfaction with Professional 
Development management system crosstabulation was used. The need and problems 
of professional development and the reasons what prevented teachers to be professional 
were calculated to obtain statistic data.
