Klayscie Browning
Candidate for:
Parent Representative
I’m the proud mother, affectionately known as the “domestic engineer”, of Mikayla (7th grade) and McKenzie (2nd grade) and wife of 13 years to Michael Browning. I have been at South Arbor Academy since the 2005-2006 school year. During this time, I have become a member of the Ambassador Team. My passion for kids has afforded me the opportunity to be the Cheerleading Coach for four years. I served on the Leadership Committee and was President of the Moral Focus Team for two years. In my quest to make a difference, I have planned and coordinated the “Food 4 the Soul” event for four years. I would like to enhance the opportunities for all parents to volunteer, get connected to our school, and to make an impact on our students.
Tahra Harrell
Candidate for:
Vice President
Hi, my name is Tahra Harrell; my son, Colin, is in kindergarten. I have enjoyed being involved at the school this year. I feel I have made the best choice for my son by sending him to this wonderful school. I want only the best for him and all students at South Arbor, I want to help the school thrive. I have worked with children and their families for over 20 years and I feel I would be an asset to the PTO.
My family has been at South Arbor for five years now, as my children Evan (4th grade) and Liam (1st grade) are students there. I volunteer monthly in the classroom, lunchroom, and playground for each child and I’ve attended most of the PTO meetings for the past two years. I also manage the Labels for Education program for the school, which involves a lot of time behind-the-scenes to earn free items for our school.
I plan to bring energy, creativity, and organization to the PTO board. I have built my own business from the ground up, so I have the experience, knowledge, and perseverance to begin and grow an organization. As a data analyst, I am detail-oriented and highly computer proficient. I believe that the PTO is a great vehicle for the parents of the school to help improve our children’s experience at South Arbor beyond academics.

Stephanie Ward
Candidate for:
President
Stephanie Ward was previously employed by a major Tier 1 automotive company as a global software resource manager, responsible for Driver Information products. In 2008, Stephanie chose to leave the corporate world and raise her two children at home. Stephanie was the 2010-2012 Co-Fundraising Chair at Stone School Cooperative Nursery. Stephanie is currently the 2012-2013 PTO Fundraising Team Leader. Her personal commitment on both the PTO Popcorn Sale and Silent Auction has raised over $8,000 for South Arbor. She has also volunteered extensively in Mrs. Brademeyer’s kindergarten class this year. In her spare time, Stephanie enjoys reading, cooking, and gardening. Stephanie is a 1993 graduate of Michigan State University, and has been married to her husband, Dennis, for 19 years. She has two children, Phoebe and Jake.
Hi, I'm Cheri Elwell, wife and mom to six kids. If you do not know me, just look for a woman who has straight red hair and lots of blonde girls trailing behind her. I currently have three kids at South Arbor, but all six have attended SAA at one time or another. My kids that are at the school now are Chloe, who will be graduating; Abbee, who is in 6th grade ALP; and Jeanee, my 2nd grader. My other children are: a boy who is a senior; and two daughters, one a freshman and the other a junior in high school. We have been at South Arbor for six years, during that time some of the things I have been involved in are: South Arbor Leadership Team (Library Representative), Book Fair Team Leader, and I volunteer in the copier room or the classrooms. I look forward to serving as part of the PTO.

Treasurer
Frances Todoro- Hargreaves
Candidate for:
President
Our family has been at South Arbor Academy for 3 years. My oldest daughter will be entering third grade in the fall and my youngest daughter will be in first grade. Beginning in kindergarten, I served as the Co-Leader to Daisy Troop 42030 for two years. I also worked on the book fair each year until this past January. As many other parents, I also assist with lunch duty, field trips, and parking lot duty. South Arbor is a wonderful community for our children and our families. A strong PTO can work to maintain that community for everyone.
Over the years, working with non-profit organizations is something I have had a passion to do. I have completed Board Training at the New Center in Ann Arbor. Currently, I serve as a member of the Board of Trustees for the Michigan Theater and am a member of the Finance/Investment and the Audit sub-committees. I am also a Board Member for the State Street Area Association in Downtown Ann Arbor.
Our current PTO Board has done a fantastic job of building our PTO from the bottom up. I am looking forward to having the opportunity to continue their success and move the organization forward.
