The purpose of the study is to establish the relationship between the ways of resolving difficult life situations and personal adaptations according to P. Ware and V. Joins.
The object of the study is personal adaptations according to P. Ware and V. Joins.
The subject of the study is the relationship between personal adaptations according to P. Ware and V. Joines and ways to resolve difficult life situations.
The general theoretical hypothesis of the study : there is a connection between personal adaptations according to P. Ware and V. Joins and the preferred ways of resolving a difficult life situation (protection, coping, mastery, maladaptation).
Empirical research hypotheses :
1. Owners of personal adaptation Charming Manipulator more often choose mastery and disadaptation as a way to resolve a difficult life situation.
2. People with the Brilliant Skeptic personality adaptation prefer defensiveness and coping as strategies for dealing with difficult life situations.
3. Representatives of adaptations Creative Dreamer and Playful Rebel more often choose maladaptation and protection in a difficult life situation.
4. The Over-Responsive Enthusiast and Responsible Workaholic adaptations prefer coping and mastery as ways of responding to difficult life situations.
The theoretical and methodological basis of the study is: a situational approach to coping behavior (R. Lazarus, S. Folkman); the concept of active non-adaptation (V.A. Petrovsky); the concept of personal adaptations (P. Ware, V. Joins).
The scientific novelty and theoretical significance of the study lies in the presentation of the author's vision of the problem of the relationship between two phenomena - ways to resolve difficult life situations and personal adaptations according to P. Ware and V. Joins - due to the lack of theoretical developments in the indicated direction.
The practical significance of the study lies in enriching the knowledge and diagnostic tools available in the framework of psychotherapeutic, coaching, training work by transactional analysts, as well as by everyone who uses or is interested in the developments of the transactional-analytical approach.
