INTRODUCTION
I  What  is  Kids’  English  4  based  on?
K ids’  English  4  has been created by the initiative o f  the  R esolution 
No 1875 o f  the President o f the R epublic o f  Uzbekistan on 10 Decem­
ber  2012  “A bout  the  measures  on  fu rth er  developm ent  o f  foreign  
language teaching and learning system ” .  K ids’  English 4 is based on 
the State  Educational Standards and syllabus fo r  foreig n  languages 
that were developed in 2013 in accordance with the abovementioned 
Resolution  (See  Chapter  VI  fo r   how  the  Syllabus  requirements  are 
fu lfilled  in K ids’  English 4).
II  Who  are  the  authors  of  Kids’  English  4?
The team o f authors who worked on K id s’  English 4 consists o f  expe­
rienced prim ary,  secondary and  specialised  secondary  school  teach­
ers,  and  m ethodologists  from   In-Service  Teacher  Training  Insti­
tutes. A ll o f the authors have been trained to create materials which 
meet the needs  o f pupils  and  teachers in Uzbekistan and con form  to 
the national  standards laid down  fo r  State secondary schools.
Ill  What  does  Kids’  English  4  consist  of?
K ids’  English  4  is  the fou rth  book in  a  series  o f  books fo r  prim ary 
classes  (1-4  classes) o f  English. It consists o f a P u pil’s  Book,  W o rk ­
book,  Multimedia DVD and Teacher’s Book,  and it provides material 
fo r  up  to  68  hours  o f  study,  arranged in a flexib le way to cater fo r 
faster and slower classes.
