Principle  3  Learning  through  actions
Understanding must be  developed through movements o f the learn­
er’ s body.  Researchers foun d out that  most  grammatical structures 
o f  the  target  language  and  hundreds  o f   vocabulary  items  can  be 
learned  through  the  skilful  use  o f   the  im perative  by  the  teafcher.

This m ethod  was  successfully  adopted in  many countries  across  the 
world  and  got  enormous  feedback.  Huge  amount  o f  scien tific  re­
searches  were  done,  lots  o f  books  and  articles  published,  as  well  as 
film s show ing im pressive results o f  learners.
A  child learns own language by exposure to the language and through 
actions which follow  language  utterances.  Language input follow ed 
by a body m ovem ent allows a learner to decipher the meaning im m e­
diately  at  many  levels  o f  awareness  including  phonology,  m orphol­
ogy,  syntax  and  semantics.  A   few   exposures  to  a  language  sample 
in  the  con text  o f  body  movement  ensures:  a)  the  com prehension  o f 
novel  sentences  (ones  they  have  never  heard  before);  b)  unusually 
long-term   retention  (similar  to  capability  to  ride  a  bicycle);  and  c) 
the linguistic  achievement was  accomplished  seem ingly w ithout e f ­
fo rt -  in a stress-free activity.
