Employee etiquette refers to the code of Conduct that an individual should follow while at work

some employee etiquettes for a better understanding of the term: 

We need to respect our organization to ensure we can expect the same in return. One should 
never treat his/her organization as a mere source for earning money. It needs to be 
remembered that your organization is only paying you for your hard work and not for 
gossiping and loitering around. 

Reach office on time. If your office timing is 9 AM, make sure you are there at 8.50 AM. It is 
essential to be disciplined in the workplace. 

Leave all your problems out no sooner you step into the office. It is very unprofessional to mix 
personal and professional life. Keep them separate. 

Always ensure to greet your Co-workers with a smile. 

It is necessary always to follow the professional dress code prescribed. Ensure never to wear 
anything which shows much of your skin. Avoid wearing jeans, T-shirts, or shorts to work. 
Female employees should not wear any kind of revealing dresses or low-neck blouses to work. 

Never ever enter an office when you are under the influence of alcoholic drinks. It is an 
offence. 

As a responsible& trusted employee, never ever share "Data" in any form to anyone who bears 
no relation with the organization. 

It is always advisable to keep your cell phones in the silent mode to avoid disturbing others 
sitting around you. A loud ringtone at the workplace is a strict no-no. Avoid long personal calls 
during office hours. Wearing of earbuds at the workplace is also not recommended. 

Keep your workstation clutter-free of unwanted documents and files. Avoid having lunch at 
your desk as It creates a sense repelling action from others. 

Learn to own up your mistakes. Stick to your statements. Stay away from any blame games or 
nasty politics at the workplace. Remember, conflicts and misunderstandings lead you 
nowhere. It is always better to discuss any issues face to face and reach an acceptable solution 
by both parties. 

While communicating through emails, it is always recommended to ensure that your superior 
is in the loop. It would be foolish to hide things from your boss. Master the art of writing 
emails. Emails must be self-explanatory and a clear reflection of one's thoughts.
