UNIT: 4.2: Issue Gate Exit Pass 
 
Unit Objectives 
At the end of this unit, one will be able to:
•
Explain the process for issuing an exit gate pass for a vehicle after completing the loading 
process.
4.2.1. Exit Gate Pass 
Listed below are the steps to be followed for issuing an EXIT Gate Pass:
 
•
Verify vehicle registration number, container number, container seal number, contents of the 
vehicle, goods insurance etc. against the DC.
 
 
•
Ensure that customs verification checks/procedures are completed, and the goods/containers 
are self-sealed en-route to a CFS for seal verification by customs before finally moving into the 
port for discharging the loaded container for exports. 
•
Enter the vehicle details, loaded goods information and other information in ERP to generate 
gate exit pass. 
•
Communicate the gate exit pass details to security and all other stakeholders through 
ERP/TMS. 
•
Check all containers before being removed from the gates after completion of necessary 
customs and legal procedures against gate entry.
•
Ensure that along with GST permits, all other commercial documents such as commercial 
Invoice, packing list, Lorry Receipt (LR- Consignment Note) are with the carrier in the custody 
of the driver as they may be checked en route.
•
All details through the ERP needs to be communicated to all stakeholders, namely shipper, 
CHA (Customs House Agent), liner, etc., for information, filing and processing.
