Molar Volume of an Ideal Gas

  • For 1 mole of an ideal gas at 0°C and 1 atm, the volume of the gas is 22.42 L.
  • STP = standard temperature and pressure
    • 0°C and 1 atm
    • Therefore, the molar volume is 22.42 L at STP.

A sample of oxygen gas has a volume of 2.50 L at STP. How many grams of O2 are present?
