1. 
   Warming up
   

Brainstorming: what’s appraisal? Ask students the meaning of appraisal. Students will tell their own definitions.
Then give them the definition of the word to compare their definition.

2. 
   Listening for details
   

Student will listen to the audio track and answer the questions. Tell the students that they will listen to the track about appraisal preparation of Galina with her friend.

Post listening activity

3. 
   Ask students to identify whether Galina and Suki used sentences 1-7 to agree or disagree. Tell the students to write A (agree) or D (disagree) next to each.
   

4. 
   Speaking. Ask students to answer the questions in pairs
   

5. 
   First explain students that it’s better to be polite when you disagree. Ask students to circle the polite phrases to disagree.
   

6. 
   Ask students to make dialogue using the phrases in exercises 5 and continue them in pairs.
