Learning style refer to a range of competing and constested theories that aim to account for differences in individuals learning. Many theoriese share the proposition that humans can be classified according to there style of learning butdiffer in how the proposed style s should be dened categorized and assessed. A common concept is that individuals differ in how they learn. Critics say there is no consistent evidence that identifying an individual students learning style and teaching for specific learning styles producs better student outcomes. The idea of individuals learning styles become popular in the 1970 abd has greatly influenced education despite the creatism that the idea has received from some researches.

Students with a strong reading or writing preference learn best through words. These students may present themselves as copious note takers or avid readers and are able to translate abstract concepts into words and essays.
Proponents recommend that teachers have to run a needs analysis to assese the learning styles of there students and adapt yhere classroom methods to best fit each students learning style .Although there is ample evidence that individuals express personal preferances for how they prefer to receive information few studies have found any validity in using learning styles in education .
There is evidence of emperival and pedagogical problems related to forcing learning tasks to correspond to differences in a one –to-one fashion.Studies contradict the widespread meshing hypothesis that a student will learn best if taught in a method deems appropriate for the students learning style.Students who are kinesthand learners best understand information . these students are hands-on learning.

In social psychology self- assessment is the process of looking at onself in order to assess aspect that are important to o0nes identity. It is one of the modives that drive self evaluation along with self verification and self enhancement. Self evalution is the process by wich the self concept is socially negotiated and modified . It is a scientific and cultural turism that self evalution is motivated .Motives influence the ways in which people select self relevantinformation gauge its veracity draw inferences about themselves and make plans for the future. Empirically oriented psychologists have indentified and investigated three cardinal self evaluation motives relevant to the development maintence and modification of self views. These are self enhancement self assessment and self verification.
Sedikides suggests that the self assessment motive will prompt people to seek information to confirm their uncertain self concept rather than their self concept and at the same time people use self essessment to enhance their certainly of their own self knowledge.\
However the self assessment motive could be seen as quite different from the other to self nevalution motives . Unlike the other to motives through self assessment people are interested in the accuracy of theircurrent self view . This makes self evaluative motive that may cause a persons self asteem to be gamaged.
