QUICK-WITTEDNESS OF A WOMAN

Amr Umarkhon was ruler of Kokan. He was eminent talented poet of his time. Nodirabegim (Her real name was Mohlaroyim) was devoted spouse of Umarhon and queen of his empire. She was also a poetess who wrote in two languages Persian and Uzbek. Nodira wrote her poems under the pen-names of Komila and Maknuna. Among her work hemistiches that consist of 10000 is known. One day in one of the feast organized by khan, Amr Umarhon argued over next to nothing with Nodirabegim, so their conversation ended in controversy. Amr Umarhon was furious with her even knowing she was right. Then ordered her to leave his state but permitted to grab the most valuable and dearest thing. Thereafter he let the feast be continued. The khan was so exhausted after few minutes he conked out. He didn’t know how much he slept. When he woke up, he heard stamps of horse and felt that he was in the carriage pulled by horse. He was astonished as he was in the middle of field at midnight. Then he tried to recall what had happened and why he was there.
Suddenly he felt warmth of somebody’s touch. It was her wife Nodirabegim. Looking at her surprisingly asked in lower voice: “Where are we going? What’s up”. In response to him she answered with a ravishing smile on her face: “To Andijan. You ordered to leave your state and go to my own home country”. Khan remembered that event angrily. “I commanded you go there, not taking me away from my country” said in a sharp voice. “You are right my commander but to top it off you allowed me to take one of the valuable things in your kingdom. Obeying your orders, I am taking the most precious thing for me. You are my the most valuable thing that I have ever found in this world. I am taking away this treasure” responded Nodirabegim. Then the caravan returned to Kokand straightaway. From then on peace and tranquility prevailed in palace of Amr Umarhon.
