Halfway up 6th Ave, there is a small street where two buildings of the school are connected by a pedestrian walkway overhead. Underneath the walkway there are doors to either building. (It’s unlikely that you or the presenter will know which building they should be in. It’s okay; just pick one.) Take Cold Springs out of town to dead end at Rt. 26. Turn left and follow 26, over mountain through Pine Grove Mills. Just after leaving Pine Grove Mills, turn right onto 45 for ~5 miles At the first light, go straight, then make left onto 322 West. Merge onto 220 N toward Bellefonte. Travel several miles to the fifth exit, for Bellefonte-Zion, Rt. 550 at mile marker 83. (Don’t panic when you pass two earlier exits for Bellefonte and one for Pleasant Gap. Do NOT take them; they can get you there, but it is much longer and more complicated). At the end of the exit ramp turn right onto Rt. 550 S, Bishop St., toward Bellefonte. Go straight on 550/Bishop St. about a mile. High School is on left opposite a shopping center and then, slightly farther, a Burger King. Turn left onto the road toward the school (before you get to the Burger King). Then turn left into the first parking lot. Enter the building from the recessed door at that end and sign in at the visitor’s table. [On the return trip, from 220, take the right fork onto Rt. 322 E, pass the exit for Rt. 26 S, continue on to exit for Rt. 45 toward Waterstreet. Turn right off the exit ramp and go straight through the first traffic light. At the dead end, turn left onto Rt. 26 S. and continue as above in reverse.]
Take 22 East. After 5.5 miles, turn left onto Rt. 655 North (Big Valley Pike) In 15.5 miles, look for a church on your right, and turn right onto Wills Road directly after it. Turn left at a split to stay on Wills Road, then take the second left after that onto Front Mountain Road. The school is .5 miles on your left.
Take Route 22 West (you will pass Wal-Mart on your left) At Water Street/453 turn right towards Tyrone At Tyrone, take Interstate 99 South (left turn entrance) and go 2 exits to the Bellwood/865 exit Make left at first intersection on North Pleasant Valley Blvd (in front of the Sheetz) Make right at the next intersection onto Cemetery Rd/Stadium Dri. (near Carol’s ice cream and the bank) Follow the road (first you will see the Elementary School on the right and then the High School) Park in the visitor’s spot near the flagpole.
Follow 22 West (you will pass Wal-mart on your left) for about 27 miles into Hollidaysburg Make left at the light onto PA-36 S/Penn Street and follow Rt. 36 South for about 5 miles Merge onto I-99 South for about 20 miles Take Exit 3 Toward Fishertown/Johnstown Merge onto PA-56 West/Quaker Valley Rd. and go about 4-5 miles School is on the right just past the Elementary School (you will pass the Middle School on the left about a mile before the other two schools).
Get on Route 22 West towards Hollidaysburg for about 27 miles. Turn left onto PA-36/Penn Street. Continue to follow PA-36 for about 5 miles. You will go through a blinking yellow light. Turn right onto Route 164/Woodbury Pike. Go ¼ mile to the next light, by a Get-Go and Walmart. Turn left here onto Route 220. Follow Route 220 for about 5 miles. You will pass Claysburg Park on the left and Peggy’s Diner on the right. You will cross under Route 99. Turn left at a light onto Church Street. There will be an ice cream store called KC Big Dipper and a Zeigler Chevy on the corner. You will go through a cemetery as you travel on Church Street. Turn right onto Bedford Street. You will go over a bridge and pass a Cat’s Meow. The school is on the right about a mile from the bridge.

If you reach Bailey Settlement Hwy you've gone about 0.2 miles too far ***** Teacher Helpful Hints**** I typed in your address and the Clearfield High School address into mapquest.com, and just have a few little comments to add, because going through Philipsburg is a little weird if you've never been there, and our high school address is 2831 Washington Ave, Clearfield, PA 16830, but there will be no road sign saying Washington Ave. Here are the last few miles once you get into Philipsburg:
If you are not familiar with Philipsburg, when you come down the hill into the town, at the first light you are basically going straight, but you have to curve out around a small circle to the right. Follow the signs for 322 W. Don't bother with street names. Just follow 322 West. You'll go straight through the town, past a Sheetz on the right, and a McDonalds on the left. Then you'll have 14 miles on 322W. When you see a small mall/shopping plaza on the right with a Peebles store and JC Penneys, look for a sign for 879 West/Clearfield/Shawville Highway. I never come in from that direction to know which way you turn off of 322, but it's right by the mall. If you end up heading toward I-80, you went the wrong way on 879. Follow 879 West up a hill, and down the other side. At the bottom of the hill, you will come to a stop light with a river and bridge in front of you. Cross the bridge/river and follow that road about 1 mile, past 2 cemeteries on the right. After the second cemetery, you will go another 200-300 yards or so, and then you should notice the small sign for our high school standing up on the right. Bear right and drive up the hill. (You will not see the school at all from the main road until you get to the top of the lane.)
Good luck finding a parking space. Walk to the front doors at the center of the oval driveway and go to the door with the buzzer - the secretary will let you in and call the teacher. Defiance Elementary School (1 hour) 124 Hitchens Road, Defiance, PA Phone: 814-928-4611 Take Route 26 South (you will pass Walmart on your right) for 25 miles At the blinking light at Saxton on Route 26, the road makes a right turn. Take it to stay on Rt. 26 (aka Raystown Road) Turn left onto Six Mile Run Road Turn right onto Hitchens Road.
Go on Route 26 North to State College. Stay on 26 North right into the State College area; follow the marked signs. Right on Whitehall at the light by the Unimart and Exxon gas station. Left on Waupelani at the light. Waupeliani becomes Allen St. stay straight on this street. Go straight through the Westerly Pkwy/Easterly Pkwy intersection (this is one road connected going through Allen St.) (You're Almost There!). Left on West Nittany Avenue directly across from the blue awning (the street names are on white posts at the corners) Delta School is on the left, directly after the parking lot.
Take 22 East Left at the light onto Rt. 655 N (15 miles) Turn right onto entrance ramp for 322 E Take the Mifflintown exit Turn left onto route 35 and travel about 10 miles until you see the school on your left Elizabethtown High School—drop-off at Mrs. Sarah Crawford’s House (2 hours 10 min.) 623 Rockwood Drive Elizabethtown, PA Home Phone: 717-361-4167 (call this one first should you need to) Cell Phone: 717-475-8235 DO NOT TAKE THE TURNPIKE UNLESS YOU TAKE CASH WITH YOU FOR THE TOLLS!!!!! Take US 22 East. (You will be taking US-322 for a large part of the time) Merge onto US-22E/US-322 Merge onto I-81 N/ US-322 E, going towards Hershey/Hazleton Merge onto I-83 S using Exit 70 towards the Pennsylvania Turnpike/Hershey/York You will be on 83 until the very last exit before the turnpike. At the 283 S and 83 split you will turn hard to the right , taking 283 S to the Elizabethtown/Hershey exit. There will be a stop sign. Make a right at the stop sign onto 743 S, towards Elizabethtown. On 743, on the right will be a trolley stop car wash and across from that will be a trolley stop restaurant. You know you are going the right way when you see this. A little after this you will be making a right onto Veterans Drive. At the intersection will be a white church. Going along Veterans Drive you will come to another stop sign. Go straight through the intersection and you will be on Rockwood Drive. This is a town house development. You will be driving along a circle.
Take US 22 East. (You will be taking US-322 for a large part of the time) Merge onto US-22E/US-322 Merge onto I-81 N/ US-322 E, going towards Hershey/Hazleton Merge onto I-83 S using Exit 70 towards the Pennsylvania Turnpike/Hershey/York You will be on 83 until the very last exit before the turnpike. Take 22 West (you will pass Huntingdon Wal-mart on your left as you leave Huntingdon) for about 25.6 miles. At the fork, stay to the left. At the light in Hollidaysburg not far beyond the Sheetz, turn right on Rt. 36 N/ Penn St. Go through two (?) traffic lights. Turn left on Hart St. (at the intersection, there is a small sign on the right side of the road there for the schools). Take the 1st Right onto Hewit St. and the school entrance will be on the Left.
Take 22 West (you will pass Huntingdon Wal-mart on your left as you leave Huntingdon) for about 25.6 miles. At the fork, stay to the left. You will see the school ahead of you on the right just before Montgomery St. bends to the left beyond Bel Aire Rd. You will have to check in with security to enter the parking lot. Huntingdon Area High School (5 min.) 2400 Cassady Ave., Huntingdon, PA 16652 Phone: 814-643-1080 Follow Moore Street onto Cold Springs Road Turn right onto College Ave. Take the third left onto Cassady Ave. The school is on the left in the third block. There are two visitor parking spaces right in front of the school. Otherwise, you have to park on the street. Be careful about street cleaning days. Huntingdon Area Middle School (5 min.) 2500 Cassady Ave., Huntingdon, PA 16652 Phone: 814-643-2900 Follow Moore Street onto Cold Springs Road. Almost immediately, turn right onto College Ave. (by Nathan Hall) Take the third left onto Cassady Ave. Pass the high school and continue on Cassady into the dead end into the middle school parking lot.
Take Moore St. downtown, making the required right turn onto 7th St. Continue on 7th St. through the two traffic lights to the dead end at Penn St. Turn right onto Penn St./Rt. 26 S. Follow Route 26 South via Penn Street: Go under railroad tracks and over Juniata River. Staying on Rt. 26 S, turn right at first light after bridge onto PA Avenue, opposite the bank. Take 26 past the prison. Turn right at the light onto the on-ramp towards Rt. 22 West. You will immediately pass Wal-Mart, which will be on your left. Follow 22 W for 5.5 miles. Make right onto Route 305 North/East after the sign for Main Street Café Follow 305 across the river to stop sign Make right at stop sign (still on 305) past Main Street Café Road curves to the left and uphill Drive about a ½ mile and first you’ll see JVES and next JVHS, both on the right Kistler Elementary School (25 min.) (= Mount Union-Kistler Elementary School) 154 School Street, Mount Union, PA Phone: 814-542-2595 Take 22 East. In Mount Union at the traffic light by Dairy Queen, make a right onto Route 747/North Jefferson Street. Cross RR tracks. Turn left onto E. Water St. (there is a sign for Kistler). Pass a beer distributor. Go to the dead end and turn right. Go one block, up a small hill, to Rt. 2026/E. Pennsylvania Ave. Turn left at the intersection before the train tracks onto E. Pennsylvania Ave. Pass the American Legion. Continue on E. Pennsylvania Ave. across the bridge. The road becomes Kistler Rd/PA-3017 on the other side of the river. The school is visible from the road. Turn right onto School Street.
Take 22 East. Turn right onto PA-655 S. Follow 655 S across the bridge into Mapleton. Still following Rt. 655 S, turn right onto Main St., the third street you come to. Main St. becomes W. Main St. At the intersection with Callowhill St., where 655 turns left, turn right onto Callowhill St. Pass the Mapleton Brethren Cemetery on your right. Callowhill St. becomes Smith Valley Rd./Rt. 3029 by the cemetery. Follow Smith Valley Rd. until it bends to the left. The school is just ahead on the right, between Honeysuckle Ln and River Rd. Mifflin County Middle School (1 hour) 2 Manor Drive, Lewistown, PA Phone: 717-242-1401 Arriving: Take 22 East Left at the light onto Rt. 655 N (15 miles) Turn right onto entrance ramp for 322 E After approximately 4 exits, take E Charles St. exit Turn left at first light, at the Dollar Store onto Kishacoquillas St. Go straight through stop sign, with the middle school on the right At the next stop sign, a dead end, go left onto E Fleming Ave./Manor Drive Go up and around past the school to the far end, where there’s the drop off point by the office Continue on to park. Leaving: Turn right on Grand Parkway N Go through the stop sign. At the next stop sign, turn right onto S Main Street. Go to light and turn right Arrive at Dollar Store; follow reversed arriving directions back. Mount Union Area High School (35 min.) 706 North Shaver Street, Mount Union, PA Phone: 814-542-9311 Take Route 22 East Make a right onto Rt. 747/North Jefferson Street (at the traffic light by the Dairy Queen) Almost immediately after crossing the bridge, take a left onto Grant Street Take Grant Street to the end. School is ahead of you. Go to the “senior high school entrance,” now on the side of the building facing the river. Don’t use the community entrance. Penn Cambria High School (1 hour 15 minutes) 401 Linden Avenue, Cresson, PA Phone: 814-886-8188 Take 22 West (you will pass Walmart on your left) After you pass PA-764 you will continue on 22 West for about 10 miles towards Ebensburg Take the exit towards Cresson/Summit Turn right onto Admiral Peary Highway Turn right onto Country Club Road (opposite church just past the crest of the hill before the long descent)* Turn left onto Keystone Avenue Turn right at 7th Street 7th Street becomes 6th Street Turn/bear left on Linden Avenue *If you miss this turn or if you want another, easier route, continue on Admiral Peary Highway to the light at the intersection of Rt. 53. There is a Sheetz on the corner. Turn right. Go straight through the first traffic light. At the top of the hill just after the curvy section, turn right onto Cathedral St. It will dead end into the school. To get into the parking lot, turn right and then left and then left again. Penn Lincoln Elementary (55 min.) 411 12th Street, Altoona, PA Phone: 814-946-8396 Take 22 West (you will pass Walmart on your left) Make right turn at Water Street/453 light towards Tyrone At Tyrone take the left exit for Interstate 99 South Take exit 33 for 17th St and merge onto 17th Go through 3 traffic lights and make a right onto 4th Street (you’ll pass the Career and Technology Center and a Catholic school on your left) At the corner of 12th and 4th you’ll see the school on your left, but you may need to park on the street. Buzz in at the front door, by the parking lot, and the first door on your left will be the main office)
Take 22 West (you will pass Wal-Mart on your left) for about 27 miles You will pass through the town of Hollidaysburg on Rt. 22. Pass Frankstown Road, and start counting traffic lights. You will pass 5 traffic lights, the 2nd of which is a blinking light. You will also pass a Sheetz and some car dealers. Turn left at the 5th light. The sign will say T409; this is 3rd. Street. (There will be a strip mall with a Martin’s grocery store on your right before the stoplight and, at the light, a building on the left that says Scott.) Just after you turn left, you will cross the railroad tracks. At the fork, there is a stop sign. Go to the left and then go up the hill. Just before the top of the hill, turn right onto Holliday Hills Drive. The school will be at the top of the hill on the left, but you need to go around the circle to the right to get to it. The parking lot is on Mattern Circle, about ¾ of the way around. Penns Valley High School (1 hour 15 min.) 4528 Penns Valley Rd, Spring Mills, PA Phone 814-422-8854 Take Cold Springs out of town to dead end at Rt. 26, turn left and follow Rt. 26, over the mountain through Pine Grove Mills Shortly after you leave Pine Grove Mills, turn right onto PA Rt. 45. Follow Rt. 45 for a few miles to the light in Boalsburg and then turn right. In about ¼ mile turn left, still following Rt. 45. Continue to follow Rt. 45 for about another 12-15 miles. The school is on the left, visible from the road.
Take 22 East out of Huntingdon. At the second light after the Dairy Queen in Mount Union, make a right onto 522 South. Stay on 522 S to Orbisonia. In Orbisonia, make a right at the first and only light. There is an OIP on the left and Community State Bank is on the right. The school is about 1/10 of a mile on the left, located right before the East Broad Top Rail Road. There is a big crayon sign in front of the school. Southern Fulton Elementary School and Senior/Junior High School (1 hour 45 min.) Elementary: 3072 Great Cove Road, Warfordsburg, PA Phone: 717-294-3400 Senior/Junior: 13083 Buck Valley Road, Warfordsburg, PA Phone: 717-294-3251 Take Rt. 22 East toward Mount Union. At the third light you come to after leaving Huntingdon, turn right onto Rt. 522 South. Take the US-522 South through McConnellsburg and on toward Warfordsburg Elementary School: Right before Warfordsburg, turn left into the parking lot of the school. It is right on Rt. 522. High School: Continue past the Elementary School, cross over I-70 and immediately turn left onto Buck Valley Road/PA484. The school is on the left just past the bottom of the hill. Southern Huntingdon County High School (45 min.) 10339 Pogue Road, Three Springs, PA Phone: 814-447-5529 Take 22 East out of Huntingdon. At the second light after the Dairy Queen in Mount Union, make a right onto 522 South. Stay on 522S to Orbisonia. At the traffic light in the center of Orbisonia, just after the grocery store, make a right onto Route 994 and go past the Broad Top Railroad. Stay on Rt. 994 as you pass through town (the road turns to the right and then around to the left shortly after the railroad) and country, for a total of about 3 miles. The school is on the right side of Rt. 994. Southside Elementary School (15 min.) RD3 Box 1B, Huntingdon, PA Phone: 627-1100 From Juniata take Moore Street to Penn Street as if you were taking 26 South or 22 West Make a right onto Penn Street Go over the bridge and through 2 lights (the second is for Rt. 22). Penn Street becomes Fairgrounds Road at the first light. Follow Fairgrounds Road for about 10 minutes The road will curve to the right and just after that will be a road on the left called Station Road Take that left. You should be able to see the school from Fairgrounds Rd. The school will be on the right after about 200 feet. Standing Stone Elementary School (5 min.) 10 29th St., Huntingdon, PA Phone: 814-643-0771 Follow Moore Street onto Cold Springs Road Make right onto 29th Street School is at the end of the street on the right. Stone Valley Community Charter School (25 min.) 13006 Greenwood Rd, (on Rt. 26 in McAlevy’s Fort) Huntingdon, PA Phone: 814-667-2705 info@stonevalleyccs.org Take Cold Springs Road (behind 2111 and the field hockey fields) At the intersection for 26 North make a left (Cold Springs will end) Stay on 26 North for about 15 minutes At fork in the road (with the church in front of you), veer right continuing on 26 North School will be on your right hand side within the next half-mile
Take 22 East towards Lewistown Pass Mount Union (and Dairy Queen) and McVeytown Near Granville and Strodes Mills make a right off Rt. 22 West onto Chestnut Ridge Road. There is a sign for the school there. The school is on the left.
Follow Rt. 22 East (pass Dairy Queen) to Rt. 322 East. Follow Rt. 322 East for about 10 miles. Take the Port Royal exit off 322 East At the end of the ramp, take a right At the blinking light, take a right We are about a mile up this road You will pass a Burger King on your left, followed by a Weis Market on the right The school is just after the Weis, on the right Park in front. The main office is up the stairs and to the left
Take PA Route 26 South (pass Walmart on your right) for approximately 26 miles to the intersection of Route 26 and Route 913 (flashing light) Proceed straight through intersection onto Route 913 East. Travel 2 miles to the town of Saxton At traffic light, proceed straight through the light As you are leaving town (still on Route 913), the road turns to the left and you go down a hill Approximately 500 yards down this hill, you will come to an intersection with a sign (right side of the road) that says Tussey Mountain High School Turn right at this intersection and follow this road (Shoup St.) The school is set back on the left after about 200 yards, but keep going past the school. At the fork, take the left fork. The entrance to the school will be on the left just before the library building. There is a big info sign at that driveway, usually with athletic info on it. Visitor parking is directly in front of the main entrance Tyrone Area High School (35 min.) 1001 Clay Avenue, Tyrone, PA Phone: 814-684-4240 Take 22 West (you will pass Walmart on your left) At the Water Street/ Rt. 453 light, make a right toward Tyrone Follow 453 at the fork (take the left side of the fork), pass Grier School, and on into Tyrone. Keep following Rt. 453 and the big blue signs for the hospital through Tyrone: At the first light, turn right onto Pennsylvania Ave, then left at the light at 14th St. Next, go over the railroad tracks and follow the road as it turns to the right and then to the left (now 15th St.). In a few blocks, you turn left onto Clay Ave. (there will be a hospital sign there, too). Go up Clay Avenue and pass the Tyrone Hospital sign and driveway Turn right into the 2nd driveway at the school; visitor parking is in front of the High School. Williamsburg Community High School (35 min.) 515 West 3rd Street, Williamsburg, PA Phone: 814-832-2125 Leave Huntingdon on Rt. 22 W, toward Altoona, passing Wal-Mart on your left. Go through the intersection with Route 45 and Route 453 at Water Street, staying on Route 22 West. A few miles past that intersection, you will go down a hill. At the bottom of the hill on the left is a lovely stone house with a big willow tree at the intersection with Yellow Springs Rd. Turn left onto Yellow Springs Rd. Follow it for several miles, crossing a small bridge into Williamsburg. Just after the bridge, turn right onto Route 866 and follow it for about 3 blocks. Just before Route 866 takes a sharp curve to the right, turn left onto the small road called Black Street; it goes up the hill (it looks more like an alley than a street, but it is a street). At the third corner, turn left onto W. 3rd Street The school is just ahead of you on the right, and there are visitor parking places in front. Go up the steps and ring the buzzer. When admitted, check in at the office, on the right side just up the steps inside. Sign the visitor's book and get a visitor's sticker. Usually a student will escort you to class. (Backup plan: If you miss the turn onto Yellow Springs Rd. from Rt. 22, in a few miles you will go over the mountain on Rt. 22, and just at the bottom of the mountain is an intersection with Rt. 866. Turn left onto 866 and take it back into Williamsburg.)
