THE CANON OF REVOLUTION IN THE NOVEL "YEŞIL GECE"  OF 

REŞAT NURI   GUNTEKIN

 

Abstract 

The most important and effective propaganda tool in the hands of the Turkish ad-

ministration, which is heading west with the repulic's announcement, is literature. 

This phenomenon, called the "canon of revolution", was influential between 1920-

1946. The great influence of republican writers in the development of this canon. 

These  writers  have  benefited  from  the  possibilities  of  the  state  while  doing  what 

the state wants. The state of the country, such as the Reşat Nuri, used for their own 

purposes.  Because literature is the most effective weapon of the new regime. It is 

also important in "Yeşil Gece".   In this work we will try to express the place in 

the engaged literature which is connected to the circus-strong literary canon of the 

novel  "Yeşil Gece".
