New Style School

New Style School is located opposite Islam Hoja Madrasah. The first New Style School in Khiva was opened in 1884 on the initiative Kamil Pahlavan Mirzabashi Khorezmi after he visited Moscow and Saint-Petersburg. His son Muhammad Rasul studied at the School, too. IN 1912, a two-storey building for New Style School was erected. The construction was supervised by amateur engineer Matkarim Nigmatillayev. The money for the construction was invested by Yafandiyarkhan’s prime-minister Islam Hoja. The Russian language, History, Geography, and Mathematics were taught there. The building has two stories; it is rectangular in shape elongated from the south to the north. It is made of burn bricks. On the two corners of the front facade it is flanked by well-proportioned corner guldasta towers which decorated in their top parts with monochrome majolica of violet and white colour.

    Kazihana
    

At the end of the 19^th century Kazihana was within Kunya Ark, on the left of the central gate, in front of the entrance to the mint. The modern building of Kazihana is located outside, south of Kunya Ark gate. It was build at the end of 19^th century and served for temporary imprisonment. The Kazihana is a rectangular structure elongated from the south to the north. It is made of burn bricks. There are three rooms in the Kazihana covered with a beamed dome. The two first rooms are similar in size and shape. The third room is small; it is a toilet for prisoners. There was a pit for executions and gallows in front of the Kazihana.

    Hajash Marama Madrasah (1839)
    

Hajash Marama Madrasah or Hojash Makhram, located at the western side Dzhuma mosque, was co stricter by Hojash Makhram, one of Allah Kuli Khan's advisors. It is comparatively small one storey asymmetrically designed building with protruding darskhana room at the northeaster corner. The madrasah consists of a yard surrounded by 12 hudjras, darskhana, winter and summer mosques. It does not follow the canonic design for this type of buildings.
