T. divides Ss into 3 groups and distributes each group a handout with questions .

1. What kind of communication should Ss do?

2. What do communication activities look like?

3. Why encourage Ss to do communication tasks?



Ss listen to the T., answer the following questions and make notes.

Activity 1: Reading and discussing the following points: (20 min)

Briefings

External communication

T. gives each group a passage .T. asks representatives from the groups to report about their findings.

Activity 2: Practicing strategies used in oral presentations.(30 min)

T. gives the following topics for a short oral presentation:


  • force press office and media advisers

  • community equality advisers

  • crime reduction advisers

  • local community leaders and councillors representative of the whole community

  • community groups or forums

  • youth leaders and social services departments

  • neighbourhood policing teams

  • partner agencies.




Ss discuss and report about their findings
