As the world around the family evolves, the family must do the same. The principle of evolution focuses on ensuring adaptation to change. Adapting and evolving-principles six and seven-can create a tension. To adapt to existing activities may require conformity to tradition, and to evolve may require a break from it. But to work toward all the Principles of Family will often counter potential conflicts between these two principles.
