Trainees listen to the recording to underline the words that are stressed, then check 

answers on page 73. They then work in pairs to practise saying the sentences with the same 

stress. Ask some volunteers to model their sentences to the class.

Extension activity

If you think trainees need more practice, you could repeat the activity with the sentences 

from the answer key to exercise 3. Again, trainees have to add intensifiers and plan which 

words to stress. Afterwards, ask some volunteers to model their sentences to the class.
