 Alisher Usmanov was born on September 9, 

1953 in the city of Chust, Namangan

region of the Uzbek SSR . The oldest of four children in the family. Alisher 

 

 

Usmanov's father, Burkhan Usmanov, was the prosecutor of Tashkent in the 

1980s .As a child, after reading The Three Musketeers , he became interested in 

swords and musketeer fights and took up fencing . After two years of training in 

the section, he entered the youth fencing team of the republic, and after a while 

he became a master of sports and was already a member of the USSR national 

team. At this time, I first met my future wife Irina Viner , who was engaged in 

rhythmic gymnastics at the same Sports Palace
