Shaping of Innovation by Human Capital

The individuals need to up-grade their skills and abilities in shaping of innovation. This is apparent that when they would be knowledgeable and aware, they would be able to structure innovation in leading to growth and development. Skilled individuals generate information that can be used to create and implement innovations. Augmenting skills raises the capacity of the individuals to implement innovations. Skills interact synergistically with other inputs to the innovation process, including capital and investment. In other words, the use of capital and investment is apparent in bringing about improvements in skills and aptitudes. Skills facilitate entrepreneurship. Entrepreneurship is often regarded as the carrier of innovation and structural change. Hence, whether, individuals are engaged in entrepreneurship activities or they are employed in educational institutions or they are pursuing educational programs, they need to augment their skills and experience (Innovating Education and Educating for Innovation, 2016).

Innovation rests on the individuals with the knowledge and skills to generate new ideas and technologies. Apart from production of technologies and innovative methods, it is necessary to formulate measures to bring them into market and make use of them within the working environment. The use of modern and innovative methods and technologies enable the individuals to adapt to structural changes throughout the society. Research has indicated that two out of three workers do not possess the skills to succeed in the technology rich environment. The main reason being, they lack the skills and aptitude and do not possess adequate awareness in terms of how to make productive use of modern and innovative methods. The environment of the educational institutions should encourage investment in technologies and knowledge-based capital. The educational institutions are able to experiment with new ideas, technologies and business models. In addition, this is apparent that the use of technologies and modern and innovative methods lead to increased access in participation in digital economy (Innovating Education and Educating for Innovation, 2016).
