Amir Temur's military campaigns

Amir Temur ruled the state for 35 years. He created a huge state whose borders stretched from India and China to the Black sea, from the Aral Sea to the Persian Gulf. In addition, he conquered Asia Minor, Syria, Egypt and the Lower Volga region, the lower reaches of the don, the land around lake Balkhash and the Ili river basin, and territories up to Northern India. Amir Temur not only improved the cities of Transoxiana and Turkestan, but also rebuilt many settlements of the conquered countries, including the cities of Baghdad, Derbend, and Baylakan. On the caravan routes, he built rabads, fortresses, bridges, in cities — mosques and madrassas, created gardens. Most importantly, it put an end to the fragmentation and anarchy in Iran, Azerbaijan, and Iraq, and restored the ancient trade routes linking East and West. The restoration of ancient trade routes favored the development of trade, economic and cultural relations not only in Transoxiana, but also contributed to the rapprochement of peoples and States of the Far and Middle East. Amir Temur established trade and diplomatic relations with the largest European kingdoms-France, England, and Castile (Spain). One of the merits of Amir Temur is that he managed to end political fragmentation, which allowed the creation of a large centralized state. A favorable environment was created for the restoration of the economy destroyed by a century and a half of Mongol rule. Positive changes have also occurred in the development of agriculture, in particular, irrigation farming. New canals were constructed and the acreage expanded. Handicrafts, domestic and foreign trade, science and culture developed, cities were improved and became populous.

Sahibkiran Amir Temur is an outstanding statesman who played a huge role in the development of Uzbek statehood. In historical sources, Sahibkiran Amir Temur is also called "the Lord of the world" and "Sohibi ADL" — "Just". At the initiative of the international organization UNESCO, the anniversary of Amir Temur was widely celebrated in 1996 and this year was declared the "Year of Amir Temur".
