As a result of the research, the following main conclusions were reached:
1. The Republic of Uzbekistan paid attention to the formation of its organizational and legal framework in the initial period of its cooperation with China, South Korea, Japan, Vietnam, and Malaysia. In this regard, negotiations with a view to practical goals at high-level meetings in the countries played an important role. As a result, more than 239 legal documents regulating relations between Uzbekistan and China, more than 170 treaties and agreements related to relations between Uzbekistan and South Korea, 160 between Uzbekistan and Japan, 13 between Uzbekistan and Vietnam, Uzbekistan and Malaysia in 1991-2017. 47 intergovernmental documents were adopted between These signed bilateral documents are important in the implementation of public diplomacy between nations in various fields, as a result of which cooperation between state and non-state organizations has been strengthened. However, the analysis shows that there are opportunities to further expand the scope of work carried out on the basis of mutual cooperation agreements.
2. As a result of the research, it was found that the history of public diplomacy relations between the countries of China, South Korea, Japan, Vietnam, Malaysia and Uzbekistan has not been uniform.Historically, the Uzbek people have maintained diplomatic relations with the Chinese, Korean, Japanese, and Vietnamese peoples, while such relations with the Malaysian peoples were established during the years of independence. In recent years, it can be seen that the relations with Vietnam and Malaysia have weakened slightly, while the public diplomacy relations with China, South Korea and Japan have a high index.
3. It was found that public diplomacy played an important role in the strengthening of Uzbekistan's cooperation with Vietnam and Malaysia. The need to introduce peoples to each other and to expand friendly relations. In Uzbekistan, the friendship societies "Uzbekistan-Vietnam", "Uzbekistan-Malaysia" and aspirations to develop relations with Uzbekistan based on public diplomacy in these countries, "Vietnam-Uzbekistan", "Malaysia- Uzbekistan" led to the establishment of friendship societies.
4. It was found that cooperation in the field of science, educational exchanges greatly contribute to the strengthening of public diplomacy. More than 20 higher education institutions in Uzbekistan are closely cooperating with more than 100 universities and scientific research institutions of China, South Korea, Japan, Vietnam and Malaysia. In Uzbekistan, there are joint programs and cultural centers with branches of Confucius Institute of China, branches of Inha and Puchon Universities of South Korea, representative office of Nagoya University of Japan, universities of Vietnam and Malaysia. Uzbek language learning centers and classes have been established in China, South Korea and Japan. In the expansion of educational exchanges, the implementation of educational grant programs within the framework of China's "HANBAN", South Korea's "KOISA", "Korea Foundation", Japan's "JAICA", "Japan Foundation", Malaysia's "Malaysia Technical Cooperation Program" is of great importance in public diplomacy relations between nations. have Young people of Uzbekistan had the opportunity to improve their skills in language, law, technology, medicine, architecture, information technology and other fields of education in prestigious educational institutions in these countries.
5. Many positive and beneficial agreements were reached between the countries in the cultural and humanitarian spheres. Through the mutual efforts of peoples, the path of enrichment and development of national cultures was chosen. Joint projects of film, theater, circus and visual art festivals, creative meetings, and sports competitions of representatives of the industry in the states were implemented. This creates a favorable socio-cultural environment for further strengthening of friendship between peoples.
6. Tourism is one of the promising areas of public diplomacy. Especially in recent years, significant work has been done in the reform of the tourism sector in Uzbekistan, and growth in the exchange of tourists with these countries has been achieved. In order to widely promote Uzbekistan's tourism in South Korea, Japan and Malaysia, tourism ambassadors were appointed from famous people, and tourism potential of Uzbekistan was demonstrated at advertising stands on the streets of major cities of the countries. The importance of "pilgrimage tourism" in Uzbekistan's relations with Malaysia has been increasing year by year, and the series of programs and documentaries about the sacred historical places of Uzbekistan on Malaysian television stations managed to gather more than 3 million viewers, increasing the interest in Uzbekistan.
7. It was revealed on the basis of archival documents and current archives that 36 friendship societies established in the years of independence to develop and strengthen friendly relations with the world community are becoming a unique institution of public diplomacy. However, problems related to the organizational activities of friendship societies indicate that their cultural and educational ties have weakened in recent years. This, in turn, has a negative impact on Uzbekistan's public diplomacy relations, the country's relations with the public of more than 20 foreign countries.Relations with foreign countries, in particular, more than 20 in China, more than 10 in South Korea, about 20 in Japan, and about 10 in Vietnam and Malaysia, relations with friendship societies, similar organizations are also becoming more important in the formation of friendly atmosphere between peoples. But in recent years, strengthening relations with them has become a demand of the times.
8. Public diplomacy relations of sister cities are important, and today they are doing great work in the growth of international cities, among them in cultural-educational, trade-economic, tourism, education, medicine and other fields. As a result of research, fraternal relations have been established with 10 cities of Uzbekistan and China, 10 of South Korea, 5 cities and other administrative regions of Japan, and fraternal relations with these countries are growing in comparison with other countries. However, Uzbekistan's fraternal relations with Vietnam and Malaysia are at a very weak level, and practical results are not visible in the interests of the parties in this regard.
