Rubric = a grading or scoring system that lists the criteria to be met in a piece ofwork. A rubric
also describes levels of quality for each of the criteria. These levels of performance may be
written as different ratings (e.g., Excellent, Good, Needs Improvement) or as numerical scores
(e.g., 4, 3, 2, 1).

Reading literacy Within the framework of the OECD Programme for
International Student Assessment (PISA), reading
literacy is defined as an individual’s capacity to:
understand, use, reflect on and engage with written
texts, in order to achieve one’s goals, to develop one’s
knowledge and potential, and to participate in society.
