The law should be changed to protect historic buildings, according
to some people. Other people believe that change in this area is always
positive and that new buildings should replace the old ones.
Analyze and express your thoughts on both of these points of view.
In today’s society,
numerous cities are confronted with 
the
question of whether or not to 
demolish old buildings and construct new
ones in their place. As far as I’m concerned, old buildings must be
preserved, as they are part of our cultural heritage and history.
Furthermore, historic buildings provide the financial benefits associated
with increased tourism.
To begin with, historic buildings such as Big Ben, the Pantheon, or
Himeji Castle, 
are of immense value, as 
they are associated with specific
historical events or figures. More precisely, if such structures were
demolished, the respective events and figures would no longer be
accurately represented. Moreover, some old buildings are part of ethnic
groups’ unique cultures. 
Should these 
buildings 
be
demolished, 
it may
result in
an ethnological catastrophe. Many historical buildings possess
exceptional aesthetic qualities. No replication can truly represent the
original craftsmanship.
With the fast increase in the city’s population, it is inevitable that
certain historic buildings will be demolished in order to provide the space
needed to build new apartments. However, it would be far more practical
to simply improve public transportation, allowing commuters to travel to
