Nobody would dispute the fact that
poor lifestyle choices often lead to illnesses and poor general health. 
I,
therefore, believe
that individuals should have private insurance that
covers their medical bills instead of forcing society to cover the expense.
Finally
, the government must provide adequate support in order to
improve public health outcomes. 
However, I believe
that 
this
support
should be in the form of 
high-quality education and information services
that will allow individuals to manage their health more adequately. People
must take personal responsibility for their own well-being because the
government will never be able to take care of everyone’s needs. If people
receive adequate information and education, they will be able to make
independent choices to improve their lifestyles. 
This will arguably break
the cycle 
of unhealthy lifestyles and poor health, improving public health
in the long term.

In conclusion, society as a whole cannot be expected to pay for the
individual lifestyle choices that we all make and which affect our long-
term health. I believe that public health is not the government’s financial
responsibility but that the government should play a supporting role
through the provision of education and information services.
