Is watching TV a popular thing to do in your country?

It is popular with a lot of middle-aged people like my parents, for example, who always turn on the TV as soon as they get home. They like to have some kind of noise in the house. I don’t know why. I guess it’s a habit, or it makes them feel like they’re not alone maybe. I don’t know. However, young people these days definitely spend more time on the Internet rather than watching TV programs.
